First use your hands as he is showing, ("the collapsing part"), and then tuck your head into it, so you will roll with your shoulder and not with your spine. Don't be afraid of hurting ur head, coz u wont. it doesnt hit the ground (at least it shouldnt...) I do it that way, and i m always safe and sound...altough i dont take any responsibility for what happens to you

@jkmit I had this problem too when i started. What i was doing is my back wasnt in a rolling position. when i rolled i had basically 3 flat spots on my back which made me thud more then roll. What you have to do is Just arc your back a little more so its a more circle shape with less flat spots. Also touch your hands to the ground and rolling from your right shoulder to your left lower back Is something you should look at:) Keep Runnin:D

So what? At least they're interested and trying to get the word out. You've also got to remember that even if the host was an expert in parkour, the audience they are speaking to won't be - so they have to keep things jargon-free and easy to follow for beginners. Nice video Ella.

@taggmaster123 I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing that you put your hands down too far back. If you stretch out a bit more (it should be a good distance between your front hand and opposite foot), you will manage a stronger roll, transfering some of that downward force (impact) to forward momentum. You need to keep the arm you roll on strong. In the video, he folds his arm under him. It is NOT a good thing to do. If you lack the forward momentum from a drop, do a backward roll instead.
